본 논문에서는 국방 분야에서 어떻게 AI 기술이 적용되고 있는지 조사하여 정리하였다. 우선미국 등 주요국들이 국방 분야의 AI 정책 수립 현황과 무기체계 및 지원체계에 적용 현황에 대하여 설명한다. 그리고 한국군의 AI 조직 및 정책, 적용 분야에 대하여 설명한다. 또한 현재까지 진행되고 있는 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁과 이스라엘-하마스 전쟁의 실제 사례들을 통해 현재 AI 기술이 국방 분야에 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 실제 사례를 들어 설명한다. 이러한 사례들을 통해 세계 주요국들이 국방 분야의 AI 적용을 위하여 어떠한 노력을 하고 있는지 확인할 수 있고 AI 기술이 가지고 있는 국방 분야의 파괴적인 혁신과 적용 방향을 이해할 수 있다.
Abstract
In this paper, We surveys and organizes how AI technology is being applied in the defense sector. First, it explains the current status of AI policy establishment in the defense sector by major countries such as the United States and the current status of application to weapon systems and support systems. Then, it explains the AI organization and policy of the Korean military and the application fields. In addition, it explains how AI technology is currently being applied in the defense sector through actual cases of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War and the Israel-Hamas War. Through these cases, it is possible to confirm what efforts the world's major countries are making to apply AI in the defense sector and understand the disruptive innovation and application direction of AI technology in the defense sector.
