본 연구는 발달장애 성인 자녀를 돌보는 부모의 돌봄 부담이 우울에 미치는 영향 관계에서 돌봄스트레스가 갖는 매개효과를 검증하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 2023년 11월 1일 ~ 11월30일까지 충북지역 발달장애 성인 자녀를 돌보는 부모 300명을 설문 조사한 자료 중 200부를 SPSS 27.0 Process Macro 4.2를 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 돌봄 부담이 돌봄 스트레스에 통계적으로 유의미한 정(+)적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 돌봄 부담과 돌봄 스트레스가 우울에 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)적영향을 미쳐 돌봄 스트레스가 돌봄 부담과 우울의 관계를 부분매개하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 매개효과를 부트스트래핑을 통해 통계적 유의성 검증한 결과 통계적으로 유의하였다. 이러한 연구결과를바탕으로 성인 발달장애 자녀를 돌보는 부모의 돌봄 부담 경감을 위한, 정서적, 신체적, 경제적 지원과돌봄 스트레스 대처를 위한 프로그램 지원 등 우울감 개선을 위한 실천적, 정책적 노력을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of caregiving stress on the relationship between caregiving burden and depression among parents caring for adult children with developmental disabilities. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 300 parents in the Chungbuk region from November 1 to November 30, 2023, and data from 200 responses were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 Process Macro 4.2. The results indicated that caregiving burden had a statistically significant positive effect on caregiving stress. Secondly, both caregiving burden and caregiving stress had statistically significant positive effects on depression, confirming that caregiving stress partially mediates the relationship between caregiving burden and depression. Additionally, the statistical significance of the mediating effect was verified through bootstrapping. Based on these findings, it is suggested that practical and policy efforts be made to alleviate the caregiving burden of parents caring for adult children with developmental disabilities, including emotional, physical, and economic support, as well as programs to help cope with caregiving stress to improve depressive symptoms.
