Abstract
This study was conducted to find out what kinds of corporate education and training contribute to the innovation of Korean companies. What can be seen from the results of previous research is that although education and training promotes innovation, that result is not present in all cases. This study conducted a regression analysis by setting the variables of education and training as education and training costs per person, education and training hours per person, and the number of education and training programs. Regression analyzes in which three variables were individually input showed that each education and training variable had a positive effect on innovation. However, as a result of the regression analysis in which three variables were simultaneously input, it was found that the effects of education and training costs per person and education and training hours per person disappeared, and only the number of education and training programs influenced innovation. Among individual education and training programs, analyzes were also conducted to identify programs that have a great influence on innovation. Among the education and training programs, it was found that training at a domestic specialized training institution had a positive effect on both product innovation and process innovation. In addition, it was found that the support for domestic graduate school tuition, which is one of the external education, has an effect on product innovation. It was also found that the learning organization, which is one of the internal education, has a positive effect on process innovation. The implication of this study is that it is necessary to expand the number of education and training programs to promote innovation of Korean companies, also to open programs suitable for the innovation goals of companies.
