출판번역의 교정교열 사례 분석

This study reveals what's happening in the revision process of book translation and publication, comparing 1) a translated text, 2) a editor-revised text, 3) translator's revision on editor-revised text, 4) a published text, with one another. Analyzed case is into-Korean translation of an American book ‘Free play -Improvisation on life and art’. The results are as follows: the editor not only revised linguistic elements or translation errors, but actively reorganized the whole text; the editor and the translator cooperated thoroughly enough to make it hard to separate their roles; the editor not always revised the text as the translator wanted, which poses a question to what extent a translator take responsibility for the text.
