韓國 詩話에서의 <詩經>의 受容과 運用

Abstract

This essay sets an ultimate goal to broaden the reception history of the Book of Poetry in the Joseon Dynasty. It investigates the aspects of appreciating and quoting the Book of Poetry in notes on Classical Poetry from that period. The meaningful results we gathered from this research are as follows: Firstly, we introduced cases of women that have read or cited the Book of Poetry and of literati and scholars that have different levels of appreciation when it comes to quoting the Book of Poetry. These cases give us glimpses of the different facets involved in understanding the Book of Poetry in Korea, which were rarely found in the exegesis. Secondly, we were able to confirm more delicate literary appreciations of the Book of Poetry in the Korean traditional era, which were rarely found in the extant Korean exegesis on the Book of Poetry. In addition, materials extracted from Chinese notes on classical poetry, series of classical books or classical reference books are included in the Korean notes on classical poetry. They can be regarded as a useful resource to grasp the variety of perspectives involved with accepting the Book of Poetry from the past. Thirdly, the introductions of Shin Gyeongjun(申景濬) and cheong-gu-un-bal(靑邱韻鉢) are cases of exploiting notions of Fu-bi-xing(賦比興) which are the three important literary techniques and Feng-ya-song(風雅頌) which are the three sections in the Book of Songs for their own poetic theory and compilation. During this process, we found that some critics like Shin Gyeongjun tended to accept the viewpoint shown in Chinese remarks on poetry and that some compilers such as the one who compiled cheong-gu-un-bal tended to remold the compilation structure based on his arbitrary understanding on the section of the Book of Poetry. According to our research, the aspects of appreciating and quoting the Book of Poetry as poetry are recognized as being sporadic rather than systematic in Korean notes on classical poetry. Despite these, we can still glimpse the process that various readers accepted the Book of Poetry in our traditional culture, and that they used it as inspiration for their own literary creations. We believe that the materials we found in this research will also partly contribute to understanding the mechanism as to how the text language of Confucian Classics affects styles of writing and literary creations in the Joseon Dynasty.
