Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze special physical educators` value orientations on physical education in special schools. Value Orientation Inventory(Ennis & Hooper, 1988) was used for data collection. The subjects of this study were 168 special physical educators teaching physical education to students with disabilities at selected special schools in Korea The data were analyzed employing t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows : 1) Compared to the female teacher group, the male teacher group showed a higher perception level concerning the ecological integration. 2) The group of teacher with 10 years or over showed a higher perception in the areas of disciplinary mastery and a lower perception in the areas of ecological integration than other groups. 3) There was no different between teachers with specialed major and teachers with special physical education 4) The teacher group with master`s degree showed a higher perception level in the areas of self actualization than other teacher group. 5) The teacher group teaching students with emotional disability showed a higher perception level in the areas of disciplinary mastery than other teacher group. 6) The teacher group teaching students with multiple disabilities showed a lower perception level in the areas of ecological integration than other teacher group. 7) The teacher group teaching student of middle and high schools showed a higher perception level in the areas of social reconstruction than other teacher group. 8) The teacher group working physical education specialists and classroom teachers showed a lower perception level in the areas of social reconstruction than other teacher group.
