본 연구의 목적은 자연휴양림을 이용한 스포츠 프로그램의 국내외 현황을 알아보고, 국내의 자연휴양림을 이용한 장애인스포츠의 발전 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 결과를 토대로 다음과 같이 장애인스포츠 발전 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 자연휴양림을 이용한 장애인스포츠의 가치에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 선행연구의 미흡으로 자연휴양림에서 이루어지는 장애인들의 스포츠 활동이 장애인들에게 얼마나 영향력을 가지고 있는지를 파악하는 것이 필요하다. 둘째, 자연휴양림 뿐만 아니라 야외에서 수행하는 다양한 스포츠 프로그램을 장애인들에게 적극적으로 홍보해야 할 것이다. 이는 장애인들의 스포츠 참여율을 증가시키고 또한 대중화에도 기여할 것이다. 셋째, 자연휴양림을 이용한 장애인스포츠 프로그램의 개발과 보급이 필요하다. 특히, 연구결과에서와 나타난 바와 같이 캠핑, 등산, 카약과 래프팅, 소풍과 하이킹 등은 장애인들이 쉽게 참여할 수 있는 스포츠 프로그램으로서 이들 프로그램의 시설을 설치하여 장애인들에게 널리 보급하는 것이 용이하게 해야 할 것이다. 넷째, 미국의 산림청에서 제시한 야외 레크리에이션 접근에 관한 지침과 같이 우리나라에서도 이러한 구체적인 지침을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 이는 장애인들의 안전하고 용이한 참여를 보장하고 즐겁게 자연휴양림을 활용할 수 있는 동기를 줄 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate sports using the natural recreation forest in Korea and outside Korea, then seek the development plans of disability sports for people with disabilities related to natural recreation forest. The followings are results. First, perception of employees working at the natural recreation forest should be well educated and improved. Second, disability sports programs using the natural recreation forest should be developed and disseminated. Third, disability sports instructors should be trained and arranged. Fourth, discovery, participation and behavior of volunteers should be enhanced, Fifth, appropriate facilities for maintenance of people with disabilities should be equipped. Lastly, Korea Forest Service and administrative organizations related to disability sports should be well connected and developed together. First, a study on benefits of disability sports using the natural recreation forest should be explored to find out how much it affects people with disabilities. Second, the natural recreation forest and various disability sports programs should be advertised to increase in participation in disability sports. Third, such as the results the places for camping, climbing, Kayak and Canoe, picnic, and hiking, etc should be developed and provided to people with disabilities. Fourth, as the consideration in US the concrete consideration on facilities for people with disabilities and users should be created to enjoy using the natural recreation forest in Korea.
