린훼이인(林徽因)의 삶과 문학 속의 ‘동반자’

Abstract

In the literary world Lin Hui In is a famous poet, however she is more importantly appreciated as the first Chinese woman architect in the architecture. Three men, her father Lin Chang Min, poet Xu Zhi Mo and her husband Liang Si Cheng could be considered as “companions” who influenced on her life and literature. She got her artistic sensitivity from her father and had opportunities to travel around the whole of Europe with her father's consideration. Her father encouraged her to develop independence of thought and adventurous spirit. And through her father she met Xu Zhi Mo who guided her to the way of literature. Xu Zhi Mo could be considered as the person to satisfy her artistic sensitivity. During stay in England she fell into literature and then did go down in Chinese modern literary history through several literary works. Liang Si Cheng, her husband, entered the world of architecture by her help and made accomplishments for development of Chinese modern architecture. The their passion for architecture was very strong to overcome any troubles and adversity. Many Chinese ancient architectural structures can be appreciated and preserved with their efforts. People mostly have interest in romance with Xu Zhi Mo and her exceptional beauty. However, we can find her as a great woman through her passion for learning and art as a international student and her persistence for advance of Chinese architecture as a researcher, who did not settle for the comfortable present and had made efforts for developing herself.
