‘학문’으로서의 문학사 서술 ― 錢基博 『現代中國文學史』의 新文學論을 중심으로

Abstract

This paper was performed to study of Modern Chinese Literature現代中國文學史 by Qian Jibo錢基博’s work of scholarship, and an understanding of Chinese New Literature. Based on this point, This paper is consisted of foreword, two body chapters, conclusion and the references. Chapter one gave an introduction to this paper and reviewed the former research. On the basis of previous studies, in Chapter two, tried to discuss about the Qian’s historical viewpoint of literature. During the period of Late the Late Qing and Early Republic of China, he pointed out the negative consequences of old and new literature, through past and present of the change, revealing his respect for the truth of history. Chapter three, tried to analyze about Qian Jibo’s historical viewpoint of Chinese New Literature and the limits of ideas. Analysis showed that Qian through his knowledge of Sinology (including literature and history, linguistics, etc.), tried to clarify the shallowness of the Chinese New Literature from an academic point of view. However, because of the times and the environment, he had to leave behind the limitations of thought. By comparison, Qian Jibo used his so-called scholarly point of view, tried to approach the literature in Late Qing and Early Republic of China. Strictly speaking, I think his writings is not a work of literature, but a work of scholarship, it is provided new insight into Qian’s academic achievement, include many faces of the traditional sense of the literature and history.
