한-중 재생결연담의 서사적 특성에 대한 일고 -지괴류 작품들을 중심으로-

본고는 등장인물의 再生과 結緣을 동시에 다루고 있는 志怪類 작품들을 ‘재생결연담’으로 명명하고, 해당 작품군의 서사적 특성과 의미를 논의해 보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 7건의 재생결연담을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 경향성을 도출하였다. ①재생결연담은 기괴한 사건의 전술을 목적으로 하는 『殊異傳』·『搜神記』·『幽明錄』등의 지괴류 문헌에 대부분 발견되는데 간혹 『晉書』와 같은 역사서에서도 실려있다. ②재생결연담 작품은 중복 출전을 보유하고 있는데 이는 재생이라는 제재가 문학사적으로 수집·정리의 대상이 되었던 전통과도 관련이 있다. ③재생결연담에서 재생을 겪는 인물은 문벌·성별·직업 등의 위치가 고정되지 않으며, 불교영험담과 같이 종교적 영험함을 설파하며 선양의 의도를 지닌 지괴류와는 거리가 멀다. ④재생결연담의 서사구조는 ‘만남 – 사별 – 재회 – 재생 – 결연 성취’의 도식이 일반적이나 ‘재생부’와 ‘결연 성취부’ 사이에 다른 내용이 추가되어 결연이 지연되는 경우도 있다. ⑤재생결연담의 주인공은 모두 결연을 성취하게 되는데 이는 지성감천이라는 천상계의 감응이 재생의 논리로 작동하고 있기 때문이다. ⑥재생결연담의 채록자는 ‘사별’을 일으키는 외부적 요인에는 상대적으로 무관심하며, 오히려 그 이후 발생한 불가사의한 사건과 그 증험 과정에 방점을 둔다.
Abstract
In this paper, the works of eccentric deal with at the same time the regeneration and connection of characters and make them name ‘A replay and connection story.’ And it aims to discuss the narrative characteristics and meanings of the work group. As a result of analyzing 7 cases of the story, the following trends were derived. ① The story is mostly found in a strange literature such as <Shuyichuan(殊異傳)>, <Soushenji(搜神記)>, and <Youminglu(幽明錄)>, which are aimed at tactics of bizarre events, and has sometimes been included in historical books such as <Jinshu(晉書)> ② The story of replay and connection, which has duplicate participation, is related to the tradition in which regeneration has been the subject of collection and organization in literary history. ③ The person who undergoes regeneration in the story is not fixed in the position of birth, gender, or job and is far from intended to preach or promote the spirituality of a specific religion. ④ In this narrative structure, the sequence of ‘meeting - bereavement - reunion - regeneration - connection achievement’ is common. But other contents are added between regeneration part and connection achievement part, which sometimes delays the connection. ⑤Because the heavenly response called ‘Zhichenggantian(至誠感天)’ works as the logic of regeneration, All main characters of the story achieve connection. The story's writer is relatively indifferent to the external factors that cause ‘lose’ and focuses on the mysterious events that have occurred since and the process of proving them.
