초록

이 글은 ‘혁신 연구(innovation studies)’의 성과를 바탕으로 사회 혁신론의 연구방향을 검토하는 논문이다. 사회 혁신은 삶의 현장에서 잘 해결되지 않는 사회문제나, 고령화 · 청년 문제 · 기후 변화 등 새롭게 나타난 사회 문제를 신규 아이디어와 방법을 통해서 해결하는 활동을 지칭한다. 사회 문제 해결이 사회 혁신의출발점이기 때문에 경제적 · 기술적 문제 해결에서 시작하는 비즈니스 혁신, 산업 혁신과는 다른 양상을 보인다. 사회 혁신에 대한 이론화 작업이 이루어지고있지만 현재까지는 ‘혁신 연구’의 성과를 충분히 활용하고 있지는 못하다. 비즈니스 혁신 · 산업 혁신과 사회 혁신을 차별화하는 과정에서 기존 논의와 거리를두면서 이런 모습이 나타났다고 할 수 있다. 이 글에서는 ‘혁신 연구’의 성과를 활용해서 사회 혁신론의 연구 방향을 탐색하는 작업을 한다. 혁신 연구의 주요 이슈를 검토해 사회 혁신론을 심화시킬 수 있는 연구 분야를 제시한다. 이는 사회혁신론의 시야와 범위를 풍부히 하는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

Abstract

This is a review article for exploring the research agenda of social innovation theory. Social innovation is to solve wicked social problems and emerging new problems such as youth and aging problems with new idea and method. Social innovation is different from business innovation for solving techno- economic problems. The researches on social innovation don’t make full use of the existing knowledge of ‘innovation studies’. This article searches for the research agenda of social innovation with the several issues of innovation studies. This will broaden and enrich of the studies of social innovation.
