골계미(滑稽美)의 미적 가치에 따라 살펴본 현대 패션

웃음은 대상을 우습게 만듦으로서 때로는 비웃음이 되기도 하고 때로는 긍정의 웃음이 되기도 하는데, 이것의 희극적인 표현의 일환으로서 미학에서는 희극적인 것, 희극미는 ‘골계미(滑稽美)’로 다루어진다. 본 연구에서는 골계미를 미적 범주로서 다루고 그 어휘로부터 ‘위트, 아이러니, 풍자, 유머, 그리고 그로테스크’를 하위 범주로 구성하였다. 그에 따른 미적 가치로 부정성, 해체성, 해학성을 추출하고 이를 현대 패션에 적용하여, 패션에서 표현된 골계미의 외적 형식을 살펴보았다. 문헌연구와 사례연구를 병행하였고, 연구의 범위로 패션의 탈중심화 현상이 나타나는 1960년대 이후부터 2010년까지 여성 패션을 살펴보았다. 골계미의 미적 가치인 부정성, 해체성, 해학성을 통해 살펴본 현대 여성 패션은 패션의 전통적인 가치기준과 엘레강스에 대한 거부의 표현이 나타났다. 패션의 절대적 이상미와 현실로부터의 일탈성에 대한 표현은 패션에 대한 부동적인 사고를 벗어난 새로운 정신세계를 의미한다. 거기에는 이분법적인 성의 역할에 대한 관념도 부정하며 성의 왜곡, 혼돈, 해체 등, 성의 범주에 대한 실험이 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 한편, 희극적 연출의 일환으로 연령·역할의 부조화를 이루어 현실로부터 일탈하고자 하며, 사회적 역할로부터 해방되어 고정된 원리를 해체하고자 한다. 통속적이고 과장된 표현은 총체적인 초월성의 의미를 담고, 여성 패션이 창조적인 대상이 되어 자신의 독창적 존재감을 드러내고자 한다. 패션은 과거 우아함의 영역에서 일탈함으로써 자유로운 창작의 형태를 즐기고 있으며 차별화되고 개성적인 표현으로 다양한 미적 쾌감을 즐기고 있다.
Abstract
This research is based on a lexicon of interpretations of ‘The Comic’ as sub-category of the values in aesthetic and analysis of how external form of the comic expressed in contemporary fashion. The research covers from the 1960‘s to 2010 with literary references and examples as well. By theoretical analysis of the comic, the category includes wit, irony, satire, humor, and grotesque and it draws on the aesthetical values as the sub-category in terms of negation, deconstruction, and amusement. In contemporary women’s fashion, it clashes the absolute beau ideal of beauty and the traditional elegance class due to express a new perspective on fashion. For example, especially when the boundaries in between genres became fragmented, the notion of gender breaks away from the standard rules of the society and the images of homosexual and bisexual becomes another categories of gender images. And it finds the way out from graceful restraints of the social roles and considers a new creative object to enjoy the unsuitable matches through its own originality. Popular images and exaggerated expression in women’s fashion take a meaning of transcendence and try to be a creative object in particular. Comparing to the old fashion days, women’s fashion after the mid-twentieth century is more capable to enjoy itself in creative form and it turns out to be individual as well as differentiated in aesthetics.
