이보나 흐미엘레프스카의 그림책에 관한 연구-퍼스의 기호학을 바탕으로 한 분석을 중심으로-

그림책은 어린이와 어른 세대를 초월해 온 가족이 소통 할 수 있는 매개체이다. 이제까지 그림책 시장은 어린이를 위한 유아 및 어린이 그림책들이 주류를 이루었지만 현대의 그림책은 작가의 감정과 세계를 표현하고 이끌어가는 예술적 영역으로 확대되어가고 있다. 21세기의 다변화, 다문화 되는 사회에서 철학적 주제의 그림책은 삶의 지혜를 교육하고 성찰하게 하는 교감과 소통의 도구로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는, 대표적인 현대 그림책 작가 이보나 흐미엘레프스카의 작품 형식을 철학적 그림책이라 분류하고 그 의미와 철학 그림책의 사례를 제시했다. 기호학 중 퍼스(Charles S. Peirce)의 기호학은 철학적 그림책을 보다 체계적으로 연상하고 추론하며 접근할 수 있는 방법을 가능하게 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대표적인 철학적 그림책 작가인 이보나 흐미엘레프스카의 작품 중『두 사람』,『마음의 집』,『생각』을 퍼스의 삼분법을 바탕으로 분석하였다. 철학적 그림책은 복잡하고 바쁜 삶을 살아가는 우리에게 오히려 단순하고 근본적인 가치와 진리를 생각하게 한다. 또한 세대를 초월해 나 자신을 돌아보고 타인을 이해하는 소통의 도구 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 철학적 그림책은 현 시대에 있어서 필요한 또 하나의 그림책 유형이다. 이러한 그림책들이 보다 다양하게 출판되고 유통되어 새로운 분야로 확장될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
Picture books are the media that entire families could communicate beyond generations from children to adults. Until now, the picture book market was focused on the infants and children's books. Modern picture books, however, are extending their realm to arts expressing the author's feeling and perspectives. In the 21st century, when the society is multi-changing and multi-cultural, picture books with philosophical topics could play a role as a tool to commune and communicate by educating and introspecting the wiseness of life. In this study the work forms of Iwona Chmielewska, a representative author of modern picture books, were classified as philosophical picture books and their meanings and cases were proposed. Among the semiotics, the Charles S. Peirce's Semiotics allows a way to imagine more systematically, reason, and approach to philosophical picture books. Therefore, the works of Iwona Chmielewska, 『Two People』,『Home of Heart』, and『Thoughts』, were analyzed on the basis of the trichotomy of the Peirce's Semiotics. Philosophical picture books are one of the picture book types necessary in this modern era. These philosophical picture books led us who live in complicated and busy lives think simple and fundamental values and truth, and it is expected to play a role as a communication tool to reflect one self and understand others as transcending generations. It is necessary for philosophical books to be published and distributed in more diverse ways to extend to the new area.
