Abstract

Recently, governments haves introduced various regulatory measures due to the cryptographicspeculation frenzy, and the negative social perception has been expanded by identifyingblockchain technology with cryptocurrency. However, blockchain technology has the potential toovercome the limitations of traditional centralized asset ledger systems and to build diversesocial systems that are transparent, reliable, and reliable at a lower cost. The purpose of thisstudy is to analyze the applications trend of blockchain technology applied to recent art anddesign field and to find out how artists and designers contribute and develop together in thefuture. The results of this study are as follows. First, the blockchain contributes to the activationand popularization of the art trade market by realizing a platform for trading and possessingartworks transparently regardless of the price of the artworks and the amount payable by thebuyer. Second, the blockchain contributes to the stable work of artists and designers by realizingtransparent and fair financial support platforms for artists and designers. Third, the blockchainprovides a platform for monetizing the intrinsic value of digital artworks and design works, providing a basis for fair evaluation of the artistic value of digital artworks against past. Also, itcontributes to provide the trust to owners of the cryptocurrency with disbelief of currency withoutthe intrinsic value. Since most of the platforms based on blockchains are accompanied byfinancial transactions, there are attempts to pursue capital gains only by speculative forces orirrational capitalists. Therefore, if the participants do not make efforts to maintain thetransparency and trust of the blockchain networks and to keep the essence of the blockchainplatforms that has been applied to the art and design field, it should be warned that they canbe turned into speculative markets like the recent cryptocurrency markets.
