친환경 소재를 이용한 모듈러 텍스타일 제품 개발 -쪽 염색 한지가죽을 중심으로

Abstract

As the use of plastic has recently increased, the concept of “eco-friendly” and “sustainability” have emerged, research and development to replace products and materials made of existing chemical materials are actively carried out around the world in the textile sector. In Korea, vegetable-friendly hanji leather, which has been developed to compensate for the shortcomings of hanji made of paper mulberry, is used in various fields. Also, as eco-friendly is emphasized, the environmental pollution of synthetic dyes during the dyeing process is recognized and interest and demand for natural dyes is steadily increasing. Meanwhile, various DIY fields are drawing attention in the wake of the coronavirus era, and it is believed that DIY techniques in the textile sector should be developed more actively in accordance with eco-friendly conditions. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to apply the modular textile, an eco-friendly DIY technique that can be reassembled according to consumer needs by applying natural indigo dye, which is considered suitable for interior design. As a research method, natural indigo was dyed using the Niram of Jeonggwanchae, a major intangible cultural asset in Korea, and a module pattern that was easily accessible to consumers was selected through data collection. Next, nine interior items were presented for each product in consideration of the method of making interior items. Through this, we looked into the possibility that interior items can be produced at home with suitable materials and techniques depending on modern situations that emphasize “eco-friendly” and “sustainability.” Given the possibility of hanji leather, natural indigo dyeing, and modular textile, research on applying jade-colored raw juice dyeing to hanji leather and modules among natural indigo dyeing in Korea and creating new patterns centered on modular textile should follow up.
