Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose and produce a sustainable zero-waist fashion design by introducing geometric formability as a pattern to produce a zero-waist fashion design. The research method and scope were based on the concept of geometry and zero-waist fashion design, and based on the case analysis of related previous studies, a theoretical foundation was laid, and the geometric formative characteristics and the composition method of zero-waist fashion design were analyzed. Therefore, the characteristics of geometric formability are derived, the method of constructing a zero-waist fashion design pattern using this is applied to the work, and a total of three designs are produced and proposed. As a result, a theoretical foundation is laid based on previous studies related to the concept of geometric formability and zero-waist fashion design, and various functions and directivity are applied simultaneously when planning and deploying fashion design. Depending on how you wear it, the use of geometric formability can develop items, design changes, silhouettes, and size changes, and the original idea basis and realization of zero-waist fashion design are possible. The wool and acrylic fabrics used are optimized fabrics for the production of zero-waist fashion design, and they can be unique by enabling an atypical production in minimal design. The possibility of zero-waist fashion design could be confirmed by illuminating geometric formability from a design perspective and applying it to zero-waist fashion design to realize and propose a total of three works, one cardigan for women and two long-vest. Therefore, this study focused on zero-waist fashion design for sustainability by considering geometric formability and focusing on the necessity of the environment, and it is meaningful to propose the possibility of zero-waist fashion design by conducting in-depth research and realization. Through this study, we intend to contribute to the development of high-sensitivity zero-waist fashion design through a design approach that combines the shape of a geometric prototype and creative thinking and implementation for zero-waist fashion design.
