Abstract
This study examines the package design styleof Chinese new-style tea beveragebrands, with the aim of systematically analyzing how Generation Zconsumers perceive heterogeneous visual style attributesand how these attributes influence purchase decision mechanisms. Using a mixed online/offline survey, 350 questionnaires were distributed and 307 valid responseswere obtained after excluding invalid cases. Building on the Kano–IPA hybrid model, we conducted a dual analysis of explicit importanceand latent importanceby attribute, and introduced a composite sensitivity coefficient (R)to quantify prioritization from the perspectives of satisfaction enhancementand dissatisfaction reduction. The results indicate a differentiated distribution of Kano quality categoriesacross attributes in consumer perception. Attributes with simultaneously high explicit and latent importance—namely brand-owned IP, fresh, natural color palette, and unity/consistency—emerged as core elements that should be secured in design. In addition, New Chinese styleand classic Chinese cultural IPproved effective for brand differentiation and strengthening affective immersion. While must-beand attractiveattributes, when fulfilled, substantially elevate perceived experience, lower-priority attributes exhibit minimal marginal effects on satisfaction, suggesting adjustable resource allocation. Overall, this study applies the Kano–IPA hybrid modelto tea-beverage package designas a novel attempt, proposes an actionable framework for the quantitative analysis of visual style attributes, and offers empirical evidence for package optimization, design strategy formulation, and market differentiation.
