Abstract
This study examines the formative influence of typographic letter arrangement on the creation of visual texture and systematically analyzes its structural characteristics. While typography originated as a functional medium for information delivery, it has evolved into a visual language governed by principles such as balance, proportion, rhythm, and spatial composition. In particular, variations in letter size, weight, slant, and arrangement play a critical role in shaping typographic texture and visual depth. The research employs a combined methodology of literature review and experimental analysis, drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Jan Tschichold, Wolfgang Weingart, and David Carson to explore the relationship between arrangement and texture. Letter arrangements were classified into four types based on size variation and the use of deconstruction and recombination, and analyzed in terms of density, spatiality, balance, rhythm, contrast, and abstract versus concrete expression. The findings demonstrate that letter arrangement exerts a decisive influence on typographic texture. Uniform letter arrangements tend to produce stable and balanced textures, whereas size variation and deconstructive approaches generate stronger contrast, dynamism, and complex visual structures. This study contributes to typographic theory by systematizing the principles of texture formation through letter arrangement and offers a conceptual framework for future research in visual communication and formative design.
