Abstract
This research focused on the proper strategy that could raise the effectiveness of the mixed advertising composed of attractive information and unattractive model. In reality, unexpected scandal news may cause becoming unfavorable of attractive TV stars. When low involvement, consumers may focus not on information but on model of advertising. The ELM (elaboration likelihood model) predicted low involved consumers would be more attention not to the central route but to the peripheral route. If that is right, then the advertising of unattractive model can hurt the effectiveness in condition of low involvement. Can managers induce low involved consumers to focus not on the peripheral route but on the central route. The CLT (construal level theory) suggested the distant future perspective would emboss desirability, in other way, the near future perspective would do feasibility. Desirability embraces the central route, and feasibility takes the peripheral in the advertising context. Even if low involved consumers, the distant future will induce them to focus on the central route related with desirability. This experimental study said low involved consumers focused on the central route in condition of the distant future. That is, they got positive attitude for the advertising of attractive information and unattractive model. This result has meaningful implications that are related with the creative cocktail of ELM and CLT, and that are practical strategy of unattractive model.
