Abstract

In this paper, I attempt to organize the current status of preface and epilogue written by Lee Ga-won, and to find out the characteristics and material values ​​from them. Traditionally, preface and epilogue are attached to a collection of writings or individual writings not only helps to define the character of the book and reveal its value, but is also a useful resource for examining the values ​​and views of literature of the person who wrote. With this in mind, I tried to grasp the value of compassion and the view of literature from the preface and epilogue. Lee Ga-won wrote a total of 233 articles of prefaces and epilogues attached to individual writings or writings. Considering the fact that he had a great civil name in the academic field of the institutional sphere, it is not unusual to have built a large number of articles throughout his life. In this paper, first of all, I summarized the current status of the preface and epilogue, and then the characteristics and material values ​​were examined with emphasis on several aspects. First, even after entering the Hangul-only era, I looked at the meaning of the traditional method and writing of classical Chinese. Lee Ga-won has never fallen behind the trend of the times, even though he has continued to create in classical Chinese throughout his life. While accepting the change of the times as the change, I tried to confirm where the intention was through his articles. Second, from the preface and the epilogue, I tried to examine the point of view and context of the history of Korean literature in classic Chinese. Writing the history of literature is not only difficult to do, and it is not possible to approach it in depth without studying traditional way of studies. I tried to find some pieces related to the history of Korean literature in classic Chinese. Third, I tried to confirm that he emphasized the style of simplicity and plain in terms of literature and beauty. This is a criterion that worked not only for oneself as a creator, but also for evaluating other people's writings. Through the preface and the preface, I examined the aspect in detail.
