본 연구는 구성주의 교육 접근법에 기반하여 챗GPT를 활용한 대학 신입생의 고등 사고능력에대해 고찰하였다. 고등 교육을 담당하는 대학에서는 4차 산업사회가 요구하는 창의 및 융합과 같은고등 사고능력을 갖춘 인재를 배양하기 위해 인공지능 학습도구(챗GPT)를 활용하려는 요구가 늘고 있다. 본 연구 결과에 따르면, 구성주의 교육 접근법에 기반하여 챗GPT를 활용했을 때 학습자들은 학습의 주체가 되고, 챗GPT는 학습자의 근접발달영역(ZPD)에 맞춘 정보를 제공하는 학습지원 비계 역할을 수행했다. 학습자는 챗GPT를 정보처리 도구로 활용하여 단순 자료처리 기간을단축하고, 챗GPT가 제공하는 다양한 시각의 정보를 심도 있게 분석하는 비판적 사고능력 기회를확대했다. 또한 학습자는 챗GPT와 대화하는 과정에서 더 적합한 정보를 얻기 위해 논리적 의사소통 전략을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 대학교육에서 챗GPT를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을위해 추가적인 제언을 제시한다.
Abstract
This study explores how using ChatGPT in project-based learning, grounded in a constructivist educational approach, enhances higher-order thinking skills such as critical and creative thinking in higher education. As higher education institutions aim to develop individuals with the critical and integrative thinking skills demanded by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the effective use of AI learning tools like ChatGPT has become increasingly important. This research examines the impact of ChatGPT on students' analytical, critical, creative thinking, and logical communication abilities. The constructivist approach positions learners as active agents in their education, with ChatGPT providing scaffolding through tailored information aligned with their zone of proximal development (ZPD). By using ChatGPT as an information-processing tool, students reduced the time spent on basic data processing, allowing them to focus on in-depth analysis, critical evaluation, and creative synthesis. Furthermore, the interaction with ChatGPT fostered the development of logical communication strategies to enhance dialogue efficiency. This study offers theoretical insights and practical recommendations for the effective integration of ChatGPT in higher education to support the development of higher-order thinking skills.
