최근 전자상거래와 비대면 소비의 증가로 인해 생활 물류 수요가 급증하고 있으며, 이에 따라 수도권을 중심으로 물류시설의 공급이 빠르게 확대되고 있다. 그러나 물류시설은 주로 경기도 남부 지역에 집중되어 있으며, 이로 인해 교통 혼잡, 환경 오염, 주민 불만 등의 사회적 문제가 발생하고 있다. 경기지역 주민에 대한 설문조사 결과, 물류시설이 밀집된 지역일수록 주민들의 부정적 인식이 높게 나타났으며, 교통사고 위험, 미세먼지 발생, 소음 및 부동산 가치 하락 등에 대한 우려가 컸다. 반면, 빠른 배송 서비스 제공과 지역 고용 창출 등 일부 긍정적 효과에 대한 인식도 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 물류시설 정책 수립 시 부정적 외부효과를 최소화하고, 지역 주민의 수용성을 고려한 균형 있는 계획 수립이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 기존의 경제적·입지 중심의 논의에서 벗어나 사회적 수용성과 지역 불균형 문제를 실증적으로 조명하였다는 점에서 학술적 의의를 지닌다. 또한, 수도권 내 통합 물류계획 수립, 서울시 물류거점 확충, 경기 북부 지역의 개발 유도, 주민참여 기반의 입지 기준 정립, 친환경 물류 인프라 구축 등 정책적 개선 방향을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study examines the spatial concentration of logistics facilities in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and analyzes residents’ perceptions through a survey conducted in Gyeonggi Province. The rapid growth of e-commerce has intensified the demand for logistics infrastructure, leading to the overconcentration of facilities, particularly in southern Gyeonggi. This has resulted in traffic congestion, environmental issues, and social conflicts. Survey findings show that residents in logistics-heavy areas report negative impacts such as traffic, pollution, and decreased property values, although positive effects like job creation and faster delivery are also recognized. The study highlights the need for balanced policies that address both efficiency and social acceptability. Key policy recommendations include promoting spatial balance in facility distribution, enhancing resident participation in planning, and adopting eco-friendly and smart logistics strategies. The findings provide empirical insights for establishing sustainable logistics policies in the metropolitan region.
