Abstract
This study aims at analyzing influences of types of religion (including atheists) and religiosity on the will of organ donation in case of brain death. For this, data from Korean General Social Survey (KGSS) in 2009 was used, and for the analysis model, binominal logistic regression analysis was selected. The analysis results are as follows: First, for the results according to whether to have a religion, compared to 'no religion', Protestants showed statistically significant influences on the will of organ donation. Second, in the analyzing the religious people, there were no differences in the types of religion, and for the variables of religiosity inputted to the analysis, as the 'religion's influences on life' are bigger, the probability to show the will of organ donation increases. As interpreted based on these results, it seems that, as Protestants have conducted and participated in social movements more vigorously than other religions, their positive participation in the will of organ donation increases. In addition, it was newly revealed that the influences of religiosity not inputted in the analysis in the previous studies effect on the will of organ donation positively. This study has a significance to find the fact that religions and religiosity which were not considered seriously in the previous studies have positive influences on the will of organ donation.
