교회와 사회의 관계 문제와 연관하여 밀뱅크(John Milbank)의 근(根)정통주의(Radical Orthodoxy) 관점에서 한국적 신학 비평적으로 읽기 - 사중복음신학, 토착화신학, 그리고 민중신학을 중심으로 -

본 논문은 교회와 사회의 관계에 대한 한국 신학의 전망을 소고한 후, 근(根)정통주의(Radical Orthodoxy)라는 신학 흐름을 만들어 낸 밀뱅크(John Milbank)의 교회론 중심주의의 관점에서 한국 신학이 제출한 교회와 사회에 대한 관계를 비평적으로 읽어보려는목적을 가지고 있다. 한국 신학이라고 함은 한국의 정치-사회 현실과 한국의 기독교적영성을 토대로 한국의 목회자와 신학자들에 의해서 만들어진 신학을 의미한다. 민중신학은 한국적 정치신학으로, 토착화신학은 한국적 문화신학으로 유럽과 북미의 신학계로부터 오래전부터 인정받고 있는 한국적 신학이다. 여기에 필자는, 기독교대한성결교회의 사중복음신학을 한국의 보수ㆍ복음주의 교회의 목소리를 대변하는 한국적 복음주의신학이라는 전제 하에, 민중신학, 토착화신학, 그리고 사중복음신학을 한국적 신학으로 상정하고 각각의 신학이 취하고 있는 교회와 사회의 관계성을 탐구했다.민중신학, 토착화신학, 그리고 사중복음신학은 각각의 신학적 입장에서 한국의정치, 사회, 문화의 변동에 응대해 왔으며, 하나의 큰 신학적 흐름들을 형성해 왔다. 그런데 밀뱅크의 교회론 중심주의적 입장에서 한국 신학을 전망했을 때, 여전히 기독론적 사유의 틀 안에서 사회를 전망하고 있음과 동시에, 사회에 대한 교회의 책임적이고 우월적 위치에 대한 깊은 신학적 성찰이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 이에 필자는, 한국적 신학 담론의 활성화를 위해서, 밀뱅크의 교회론 중심주의 신학과의 생산적인대화를 적극 제안한다.
Abstract
This article is aiming at scrutinizing the theological perspectives of the relationship between the Church and society in the Korean Theologies, and then at critically analyzing these angles of the correlation of the Church and society from the ecclesiological perspective proposed by John Milbank who is running the Radical Orthodoxy movement. Korean Theology can be defined as a theology which is fashioned by Korean theologians, based on the Korean socio-political, cultural -historical, and psycho-spiritual background. Korean Minjung Theology had been esteemed as the Korean Political Theology, and Korean Indigenizational Theology was already regarded as the Korean Cultural Theology by the European and North American theological circles. While these two theologies showed their high theological qualities and logics, they failed to speak for the Korean fundamental-evangelicalChurch which had constituted the majority of the Korean churches. Thus, I proposed the Fourfold Gospel Theology, originated from and developed by the Korean Evangelical Holiness Church, as the representative of the Korean fundamental-evangelical Theology. Korean Minjung Theology, Korean Indigenizational Theology, and Fourfold Gospel Theology have done their best in forging Korean Theologies in the turbulent course of the modern Korean history. From the ecclesiological perspective of John Milbank, however, Korean Theologies were still confined by the Christonomic discourses, failed to reflect on the primacy of the Church over the secondary societies, and sometimes shrank from the duty of the Church as the non-violent judge and peaceful superintendent over the secondary societies. Hence, this article urgently suggests to forming a dialogue between Korean Theologies and the Radical Orthodoxy from the ecclesiological perspective.
