당면한 전 지구적 생태 위기는 신학적인 응답을 요구하는 하나의 문제임과 동시에 그간 신학의 인간 중심적 전망을 온 피조 세계로 확장하게 해 준 자극제이기도 하다. 좁게는 생태 위기에 대한 응답, 넓게는 삼위일체 하나님과 인간, 구원의 완성에 있어서 생태적 차원과 함의들을 찾기 위한 신학적 탐구의 일차 자료로서 성서는 독특한 위치를 점한다. 특히 신약성서에 전제되거나 암시된 생태적 통찰들을 포착해 내서 역사적, 문법적 석의에 통합시키고 이를 성서 신학적 체계로 엮어내는 작업, 즉 생태해석학의 이론적 성격을 고찰하는 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. 이 연구에서 나는 20세기 중반 이래로 서구 성서학계를 중심으로 시도된 다양한 생태적 주석과 이론적 모델을 기초로 생태해석학의 정당성을 검토해 보고 석의에서 해석으로 나아가는 과정에 고려해야 할 네 가지 생태적 주제 범주를 제시했다.
Abstract
The ecological crisis pending upon the whole globe is both an issue with which Christian theology is forced to grapple and an opportunity for theologians to realize the limit of their anthropo-centric sight and to broaden their perspectives into the entire creation. New ventures of theological exploration naturally stimulate new ways of reading the Scripture. This study aims to discover and articulate the ecological insights which are presumed or implied in the New Testament, incorporate them into historico-grammatical exegesis and biblical theology. A survey of the major developments in eco-hermeneutics of the last sixty years or so is followed by an examination of exegetical works and theoretical discussions on eco-hermeneutics. We find that eco-hermeneutics is a legitimate model of biblical hermeneutics and we propose four thematic categories to be applied in the actual practice of eco-hermeneutics.
