일제 강점기 농민독본류의 발행 실태와 내용

Abstract

This study aims to survey the tendency of publishing Nongmin-Dokbon (Reading books for farmers and workers) and it’s contents during the Japanese colonial periods. Some private organization of working class and farmer’s movement published the textbooks for the enlightenment movement in the 1920s. For example, Lee Seonghwan(1925, 1928) announced the Joseon-Nongmin(Journal for farmers). His book was published by Jeon- Joseon Nongmin-sa in 1930. In this time, some textbooks were also published by Sin Myeong-gyun(1928), Kim Il-dae(1931) etc. These private textbooks contained human rights, nature, and economic problem of the farmer’s union. But these enlightenment movements were oppressed by colonial government since the Juksan Nongwoo-hoi(竹山農友會, group of farmers in Juksan) in 1933. These suppressive polices influenced the eradication of illiteracy movement which were performed by newspaper publishing companies. The colonial local administrative agencies compiled many Nongmin Dokbon for increased provisions. For example, Gyeonggi-do(1933), Chungcheongbuk- do(1937), Hwnghae-do(1943) etc. Specially, Hwanghae-do’s the Jeonsi Nongmindokbon(wartime reading book for farmers) was made up colonial exploitation policies which increased provisions, goods saving and Japanese Loyal subject.
