이 연구는 생성형 인공지능의 교육적 활용 가능성을 탐구하고, 기존 토론 수업에서 교사와 학생이 직면한 어려움을 해결하기 위해 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 토론 수업 모형을 설계하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 생성형 인공지능을 학습자와 교사를 지원하는 AI 튜터 및 AI 보조교사로 활용하여 논제 선정, 자료 준비, 실시간 토론 모니터링 및 성찰 지원 등을 통해 기존 토론 수업의 한계를 보완하고자 하였다. 이 연구에서는 설계․개발 연구 방법을 적용하였으며, 문헌 분석과 두 차례의 전문 가 타당성 검증 과정을 통해 모형의 내적 타당성을 확보하였다. 이 연구 결과로 개발한 생성형 인공지능 활용 토론 수업 모형은 ‘수업 준비-수업 안내-AI 토론 준비-AI 토론-브리지(bridge)-대면 토론-대면 토론 성찰-수업 정리-평가’ 단계로 구성되었다. 이 연구는 생성형 인공지능을 토론 수업 도구로 수업에 활용하여 체계적인 토론 수업 모형을 설계했다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 교사와 학생 모두에게 실질적인 지원을 제공할 수 있는 혁신적인 방안을 제시하여 기존 토론 수업의 장애 요인을 해소하는 데 기여할 것이다.
Abstract
This study explores the educational potential of generative AI and designs a model of a debate class using generative AI to solve the difficulties faced by teachers and students in traditional debate classes. The study posits that generative AI can play the roles of AI tutor and AI assistant to support learners and teachers, respectively, and can compensate for the limitations of traditional debate classes by selecting topics, preparing materials, monitoring real-time debates, and supporting reflection. The research methodology adopted was a design and development study, and the internal validity of the model was secured through literature analysis and two rounds of expert validation. The model of a debate class using generative AI comprises the following steps: Class preparation - Class guidance - AI debate preparation - AI debate - Bridge - Face-to-face debate - Face-to-face debate reflection - Class summarize - Evaluation. The significance of this study lies in its conception as a teaching model, with the objective of systematizing generative AI as a debate teaching tool and its utilization in the classroom environment. It has been demonstrated that this innovative approach can offer practical support to both teachers and students.
