이 연구는 유동엽(2009)에 이은 후속 연구로서 초등학교 2학년을 대상으로 이야기능력의 발달을 생태학적인 방법으로 탐구하여 화법 교육에 대한 시사점을 도출하는것을 목적으로 한다. 이 연구의 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 2학년의 이야기 능력은 어떤 발달 양상을 보이는가?둘째, 이야기 능력의 발달에 있어서 초등학교 1학년과 2학년 시기는 학년을 나눌만큼 차이가 나는가?셋째, 이러한 연구 결과는 화법 교육에 어떤 시사점을 주는가?연구 문제에 답하기 위해 제보자가 초등학교 2학년 시기(만 7.03세~만 8.02세)에들려준 이야기 43개를 분석하여 초등학교 2학년 아동의 이야기 구성 능력, 이야기표현 능력, 이야기 소통 능력의 발달을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 제보자의 이야기 능력은 초등학교 1학년과 2학년 시기에 걸쳐 지속적으로 발전하고 있는 것으로 드러났다. ‘갈등’이나 인과비율, C-unit당 평균 절 길이에서 괄목한 증가가 있었으나 이들이 이야기 능력의 발달을 구획 짓는 결정적인 요소인지는 후속 연구를 통한 확인이 필요하다. 이 연구의 결과를 일반화하는 데에는 많은 한계가 따른다. 이야기 능력의 발달에관해 학년과 대상을 달리하는 많은 후속 연구가 이어져서 활발한 논쟁이 이루어지길기대한다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the development of story telling ability of Second-grade student, and to induce the suggestions to the oral communication education. This study is the succeeding research of Yoo(2009). Specifically, I would like to answer to following questions. First,How does the story telling ability develop during the Second-grade? Second,Is it possible to divide first-grade development from Second-grade development? Third, What suggestions can we induce from this research to oral communication education?To answer to this questions, this study analysed the 43 stories of second-grade student which she told investigator between age 7.03 and age 8.02. As a results, the second grade student was adjudged to have ability to construct, to express, and to co-make story with story partner, and these abilities had been developed during her second grade year.
