1980년대 중후반부터 창야오는 거대한 시대 사회적 변화를 감지하면서 자신의 시적 추구에 근본적인 변화가 불가피할 것임을 자각했다. 실제로 1990년대 이후 창야오 시의 주제는 일상생활의 영역으로 확대되었고, 삶의 무정함과 무기력한 인간 존재에 주목하기 시작했다. 당시 창야오의 심리 상태는 시대적, 예술적 낙오에 대한 두려움이었다. 「하라쿠투」는 후기 시 중 가장 중요한 작품으로, 창야오는 과거의 유형지 ‘하라쿠투’에서 생명의 무상함과 비현실감을 느낀다. 비극적 삶 속에서도 언제나 건실한 생활인의 태도를 견지했던 창야오는 기존의 가치가 전면적으로 위협받는 낯선 상황 속에서 ‘의미’의 혼돈과 부재를 경험한다. 그리고 뜻밖에 새로운 사랑의 감정이 찾아오면서 창야오는 치명적 약점을 가진 인간의 모순적 체험을 되풀이한다.
Abstract
In the late 1980s, the meeting with the ‘New Life’ poets was a factor of psychological shock and conflict for ChangYao. ChangYao had the pride of a middle-aged poet, but the fierce pursuit of young poets gave him a fear of artistic fallout. ChangYao was also afraid of the huge social trend of reform and opening up. ChangYao felt insufficient from the change of reality and the pursuit of a new generation, but he tried to fulfill the mission of the "hurrying man" in the anxiety that he could never fall behind. The most important work of ChangYao’s later poems, 「Harakutu」, contains intense disillusionment, anxiety, and skepticism about existing values. ChangYao, who watches human tragedy in the passage of time, realizes the overwhelming power of time. And the more ChangYao knows the nature of time, the more he feels that life is in vain. Unexpectedly, ChangYao feels a new feeling of love. However, in an era when everything became a commodity, ChangYao longed for sublime and beautiful love, and regarded it as a practice of beauty like religious salvation. And as he gets tired of the reality of testing his ideals and sincerity, he realizes the pain of life heavier than death.
