기독교 사회윤리의 과제는 복음이 가지고 있는 특수성과 보편성을 적절하게 설명해 내는 것이다. 어느 하나를 희생시키지 않으면서 이 둘을 설득력 있게 제시하는 것은 고전적이면서도 현대적인 논쟁이다. 오늘날의 맥락에서 이 논쟁이 부각되기 시작한 것은 최근에 큰 이슈로 등장한 공적 담론 속에서 종교의 역할이 무엇인지 질문하면서부터다. 본 논문은 오늘날 공적 영역에서 기독교 복음이 직면한 이러한 딜레마를 본회퍼의 윤리학을 통해 극복해보고자 한다. 본회퍼의 ‘현실’ 개념이 가진 이중성은 오늘날 현대사회를 보다 정의롭고 공정하게 만들 수 있는 아이디어들을 제공해 준다. 또한 본회퍼가 주장한 ‘위임론’은 기독교신앙의 보편성과 특수성을 적절하게 해명할 수 있는 단초를 제공해 준다. 특별히 본회퍼의 윤리는 오늘날 정치철학에서 중요하게 다루고 있는 ‘정치적 다원주의’에 대한 신학적 토대를 제공해준다. 본회퍼의 윤리학을 통해 오늘날 공적 영역에서 기독교가 어떤 형태와 내용으로 복음을 신실하게 증언할 수 있는지를 제시하도록 하겠다.
Abstract
The task of Christian social ethics is to adequately explain the particularity and universality of the gospel. It is a classical and controversial debate that persuasively presents these two tasks without sacrificing either. In today’s context, this debate has begun to emerge from the question of what role religion plays in public sphere. This paper attempts to overcome this dilemma faced by the Christian gospel in today’s public sphere through Bonhoeffer’s ethics. The duality of Bonhoeffer’s concept of ‘reality’ provides ideas that can make modern society more just and fair today. In addition, Bonhoeffer’s ‘mandate’ theory provides a basis for adequate explanation of the universality and particularity of the Christian faith. In particular, Bonhoeffer’s ethics provides a theological foundation for ‘political pluralism’, which is important in today’s political philosophy. Through the Bonhoeffer’s ethics, I will present what form and content Christianity can take to faithfully testify to the gospel in today’s public sphere.
