현대사회에 어두운 그림자를 드리우는 일련의 전 지구적 정치, 사회, 경제와 환경의 위기를 통해 현대사회는 합리적 이성과 기술문명중심의 현대성에 대한 한계를 직시하게 되었다. 데카르트의 코기토적 주체나 세계의 입법자로서의 이성적 주체를 통해서는 더 이상 사회의 병리현상을 설명할 수도 해결할 수도 없게 되었다. 현 상황은 적극적 개입을 요구하고 있다. 후기 구조주의에서 이야기되는 것과 같은 주체와 이성의 해체는 대안이 될 수 없으며 우리는 해방의 새로운 주체를 위한 실험적 재고를 필요로 한다. 이에 본 연구는 현대성이 현대사회의 규범적 이념으로 여전히 유효하며 이에 대한 근거를 사적인 관계의 영역에 대한 재해석에서 찾을 수 있다고 본다. 특히 도덕적 딜레마 상황과 같은 삶의 여러 현장에서 여성들이 만들어내는 이야기는 생활세계의 대상을 구성하며 이 대상은 우리에게 의미로 가득 찬 상징의 세계를 열어준다. 이 세계는 인간의 삶과 행위가 영위되며 개개인의 자아가 다원적으로 실현되는 장이다. 이곳은 기존의 공개적 이성의 영역에서는 잘 드러나지 않으며 사적 친밀성의 영역에서 그 모습을 보여준다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 자아와 자아가 만나 서로 융합하는 지점을 배려와 친밀성으로 개념화하여 다룬다.
Abstract
A series of worldwide political, social, economic, and environmental crisis has cast a dark shadow on modern society. The modern society has faced the limitation of modernity, the core of which consists in rational reason and technological civilization. Pathological phenomena of modern society can be neither explained nor resolved any more by Descartes' cogito as ego or rational subject as a legislator of world. So we are demanded to intervene actively in this current situation. The postmodernist deconstruction of reason and subject cannot be an alternative. What is required is an experimental reconsideration of subject for the emancipation of human being. To insist that modernity as a normative idea is still in force, this paper tries to seek that ground in the reinterpretation about the spheres of private relationship. Particularly the narratives which women tell in various fields of life such as moral dilemma situation constitute objects of life world, and those open us a world of symbols filled up with meanings. This world is a sphere where human beings live and act and realize each individual Ego multilaterally. It can not be revealed in the domain of public reason, but in the domain of private intimacy. In such background, this paper suggests intimacy and care to conceptualize the loci where Ego and Ego meet and fuse together.
