메를로-퐁티의 ‘말하는 몸(corps parlant)’과 히스테리

히스테리는 신체적 증상을 통해서 무의식적 욕망을 표현하는‘말하는몸’을 가지고 있다. 이때 히스테리의 증상은 이‘말하는 몸’의 언어로 볼 수 있다. 그런데 메를로 퐁티의 언어의 현상학을 구성하는 핵심 요소는‘말하는 몸’과몸짓이다. 따라서 히스테리의 증상은 메를로-퐁티의‘말하는 몸’의 몸짓에 해당한다. 히스테리의 증상의 원인은 실재계와의 조우에 있다. 즉 히스테리의 증상은실재계가 남긴 외상을 신체를 통해서 표현하는 것이다. 이때 무의식은 이 상징계의 결여에 대해서 무언가 할 말이 있는 것처럼 증상을 통해서 말한다. 이와 같은 상징계의 결여로 인해 욕망이 작동한다. 특히 프로이트의 히스테리 환자였던 정육점 여인에 대한 라캉의 분석은 욕망이 상징계의 결여와 관련하여 어떻게 작동하지는 잘 보여준다. 이를 통하여 히스테리는 궁극적으로 여성성에 대한 문제를 제기한다. 왜냐하면 히스테리 환자들은 상징계에서 자신의 여성성과 동일시할 수 있는 기표의결여로 고통받는 여성들이기 때문이다.
Abstract
Hysterira has the ‘speaking body’which expresses the unconscious desire through bodily symptoms. The symptoms of hysteria can be seen as language of ‘speaking body’. Merleau-Pony's phenomenology of language consists of‘ speaking body’and of gestures as key elements. Merleau-Ponty's ‘speaking body’speaks with gestures,in other words, bodily expression. Therefore, the symptoms of hysteria correspond to the gestures of 'speaking body.'The cause of hysterical symptoms lies in the encounter of the real order. That is to say, the symptoms of hysteria express the trauma left by the real order through bodily language. In that case, the unconscious speaks through symptoms as if it had something to talk about this lack in the symbolic order. It makes desire to work. In the lacan's analysis of "butcher's wife" who was Freud's hysterical patient,reveals the structure of desire with respect to the lack in the symbolic order. Hysteria ultimately poses the question concerning femininity. It means that the hysteric are women who suffer from lack of an identifying signifier for femininity in the symbolic order.
