Abstract

This essay debates a surrogate motherhood and surrogate arrangement from a feminist point of view. Surrogate arrangement is one of old reproductive conventions, but is difficult of debate immorality of surrogate motherhood because of reproductive technology development. Natural law theory and categorical imperative of Kant criticize surrogate arrangement powerfully. But moral theories of these days, that is, reproductive freedom and rights and arrangement based on mutual agreement is difficult of express immoral reasons of that. Then, how do feminist theories consider immorality of surrogate motherhood today? This essay concludes that these have a diverse views. Technophiles feminists view positively surrogate arrangement a menas of woman liberation, Technophobic feminists do not accept that arrangement, as it means of woman oppression and control of man. Therefore, I argue that a feminist reflection of surrogate motherhood focus on contexts and situations in relation to surrogate arrangement.
