육조(六朝) 지괴(志怪) 속에 보이는 변신(變身)의 상상력-개설화를 중심으로

Abstract

The Imagination of Metamorphoses in the Zhi-guai (志怪); Lee, Yeon-Hee In Zhi-guai(志怪) of Six Dynasties, the metamorphoses are various recorded and among them, one of the representative types of the metamorphoses is that between human being and the animal. The people of Six Dynasties’s conception and curiosity of Wu(物) is reflected on the metamorphoses betwen the human being and the animal, and among them the metamorphoses of a dog are most significant because a dog are the livestock which lives from the most near place. In this paper, We examined ancient Chinese conception of a dog and distinctive feature, and meaning of a dog metamorphoses which is influenced by that concept. The metamorphoses of a dog was divided into two types, the one is the static metamorphoses(靜態 變身), which are represented by language and are imitated the body of the human being, the other is the dynamic metamorphoses(力動 變身) which formed the external transformation. The main object of a dog metamorphoses was condensed into the human being by these. The metamorphoses from a dog to the human being, which is refused thoroughly by the human being who located in the uper world or adapted by the proces of the pasage which the human being provides. And the important objects of metamorphoses from a dog to the diferent things excepts the human being are Fang-Xiang-Shi(方相氏) and a Dragon(龍), these kind of metamorphoses give a coercion or a mysterious impression, which are in striking contrast with refusing thoroughly by the human being. Because the people of Six Dynasties reflected their curiosity and fantasy to animal and their conception about 物 in the metamorphoses of a dog, so this narrative make a contribution of abundant fantasy of Zhi-guai(志怪).
