Abstract

The Korean Classical Poetry were the most frequent researched field in Korean literature; however, recently it is getting hard to find out the energy of the study compared to the past. Even though present outcomes based on the various themes have been accumulated, the fact that the outcomes are not developed into the new area is pointed out as a problem. The reasons of this situation are the changed research circumstances in each college, and lack of tension that spreads out among the Korean literature scholars. Moreover, the fact that the submitted dissertations are not provided easily to the researchers is another reason. About two hundreds of dissertations in the field of Korean classical poetry are submitted in a year, but most of the researchers have hard time reading them. Considering the number of submitted dissertations in recent years, the quantity has been increased at least in the field of Korean classical poetry. However, it is needed to think carefully about the progress of the researchers’ abilities because it is hard for many researchers to agree that the dissertations in the academic journals have sturdy abilities. There are many ways to restore the vigor in study of Korean classical poetry, but it can be one of the solutions that the dispute about the various themes through abundant forms. In an academic discussion, it is important to define for what the dispute is. Not staying simply at the dispute itself, but implying a macroscopic point of view about the history of literature and culture can produce the productive results. Thus, this dissertation investigates the issues that have been regarded as the most remarkable part in the filed of Korean classical poetry, and arranges the disputes which can be raised at the present stage of study. To lead a desirable debate, it is needed that other researchers should raise various issues, and these issues have to be discussed more frequently at the place of discussion. Also to build up the academic abilities and restore vigor of scholars interest and support are needed for the succeeding generation researchers because academic results can be reproduced when the debates of young researchers are added into the outcomes of present scholars.
