변증법적 사유와 실천의 한 절정 - 1940년을 전후한 시기의 임화

Abstract

The misunderstanding is not disappeared that Im Hwa has converted his socialistic thought or was inclined to pro-Japanese around 1940. But Im Hwa neither converted his thought nor made his way to pro-Japanese literature. Even in the pressure of fascism he made sure that totalistic culture enforced by fascism couldn’t become new culture that intergrates human beings, and searched the way of resistance literature by suggesting that proletariat was the authentic subject of new culture. In concern with historical consciousness, he stubbornly kept the consciousness that the necessity was realized even though historical development permitted varied roundabout ways. And he didn’t deny the political nature of literature under the pretext of resistance to fascist politics, but emphasized the necessity of authentic union of literature and politics. In concern with language consciousness, not inclining both to resistant nationalism and imperialism he showed the wisdom of protecting korean language. We can judge Im Hwa’s thought such as these a climax of his dialectic thought starting from the midst of 1930s.
