Abstract

The purpose of this article is to review the records management system during the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, which was omitted in terms of the history of the nation's records management system. Therefore, we intend to review the administrative system of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and check the records management system that appears in the administrative system. The Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea established separate records management systems by the executive and legislative branches after the establishment of the government. In the case of the administration, the State Council, ministries, provinces, counties and prefectures established a system for producing and distributing records. In addition to the establishment of a record production and distribution system for the administrative affairs of the Provisional Congress, the legislature also established a system for managing and preserving records produced by the Provisional Congress. The records management system of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea is a modern records management system that borrowed part of the records management system of the Korean Empire. However, there are limitations, such as the inability to establish archives due to the difficulties of the times.
