‘교육비평’의 게재 논문의 연구 동향 특징 분석

본 연구는 2000년 가을 창간된 교육비평의 창간호부터 최근까지의 모든 원고를 전체적으로 조망하여 지난 23년간 교육비평이 걸어온 발자취를 살피고, 나아가 앞으로 교육비평이 나아갈 새 길에 대한 시사점을 도출하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 교육비평 제1호부터 제49호까지 게재된 총 823편의 원고 중 편집자의 글, 문예 성향의 기고, 만평, 포토에세이 등을 제외한 740편의 원고를 대상으로 원고들의 연구 형식, 연구 주제, 연구 방법에 따른 경향성을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육비평에 실린 글 형식의 변화는 교육비평의 독자이자 투고자들이 점차 일반 대중에서 아카데미아로 옮겨갔음을 보여준다. 둘째, 교육비평에 실린 글들의 방법론적 변화는 이야기공동체 구성원의 성격뿐 아니라 교육 현상을 바라보고 해석하는 관점의 변화를 수반한다. 셋째, 교육비평에 실린 연구주제의 변화는 저널이 오랜 기간 일관되게 초·중등교육과 교육개혁을 최대의 관심사로 하고 있다는 점을 보여주는 동시에 교육비평이 다양한 교육문제로 넓게 확산된 저널의 특징을 지닌다는 점을 드러낸다. 교육비평은 특정 전공 분야의 주제를 담는 일반적인 학술지들과는 달리 폭넓은 교육 주제의 전반을 다양한 교육학 전공자들이 비판적 문제의식이나 관점을 가지고 접근하고 있다는 것이 가장 큰 특징이며, 이를 보다 심층적으로 이해하기 위해서는 후속 연구로 교육비평의 주요 변곡점에 대한 구술사적 연구나 게재 원고의 동향에 대한 담론의 분석과 같은 질적 분석이 수행되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze all articles from the first issue of Education Review to the present, to confirm the 23-year history of Education Review, and to suggest a direction for the future of Education Review. For this purpose, 740 articles were selected excluding editors' writings, literature and art, cartoons, photo essays, etc. out of a total of 823 manuscripts published in Education Review Nos. 1 to 49. In addition, the overall trend of the research format, research topic, and research method of these articles was analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, the change in the form of writing in Education Review shows that readers and writers of Education Review have gradually moved from the general public to academia. Second, the methodological change of the articles published in Education Review means not only the characteristics of the readers and writers of Education Review, but also the change in their perspectives on and interpreting education. Third, the change in the research topic of Education Review shows that Education Review has consistently placed primary education, secondary education, and education reform as its greatest concern for a long period, and it deals with various educational issues widely. Education Review is characterized by the fact that different majors are approaching the whole field of education with critical problem awareness or perspective, unlike general academic journals that contain the subject of a specific major. In order to understand the characteristics of Education Review in depth, as a follow-up study, oral history research of major events in the history of Education Review or an analysis of discourse on articles published in Education Review should be performed.
