전북 영화 비평사 -「전북일보 」(1954~1969)를 중심으로-

본 연구는 한국 전쟁기 이후부터 1960년대까지 「전북일보 」에 실린 영화 관련 기사의 유형을 분석하고 이 중 영화 비평 관련 기사 목록을 작성하고, 기사의 양상을 살펴보았다. 한국 전쟁 이후부터 1960년대 「전북일보 」 영화 비평 기사의 양상은 1962년 영화법 제정을 전후해서 크게 나뉜다. 영화법 제정 이전에는 <피아골>, <나는 잊지 못한다>와 같은 지역영화에 대한 전망과 기대를 밝히고 있으며, 한국 영화에 대해서도 발전 가능성을 높이 평가하고 있다. 그러나 영화법 제정 이후 문예영화, 만화영화, 전위영화 등 다양한 장르로 분화한 한국 영화의 제작에 대해 소개하고 있으나, 작품성보다는 흥행을 위해 기획된 작품이라는 점에서 비판하는 기사가 실린다. 특히, 지역 영화 제작에 대한 기사는 1960년대 전반에는 <나는 잊지 못한다>와 같은 작품을 제작이나 「전북일보 」 기자 출신의 이한욱 감독의 작품 제작 소식이 실려 있다. 그러나 1960년대 후반으로 갈수록 이보다는 전북 출신 영화인 근황이나 전북 지역에서 로케이션 한 영화를 소개하는 기사가 대부분이다. 이는 1960년대 이후 지역 영화산업이 중앙으로 집중되는 과정을 단적으로 보여준다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the types of film-related articles published in 「Jeonbuk Daily(Jeonbuk Ilbo) 」 from the period of the Korean War to the 1960s, listed the articles related to film criticism, and examined the aspects of the articles. From the Korean War to the 1960s, the aspects of film criticism articles in 「Jeonbuk Daily 」 are largely divided before and after the enactment of the Film Act in 1962. Prior to the enactment of the Film Law, prospects and expectations for regional films such as <Piagol> and <I Can't Forget> are revealed, and the potential for development of Korean films is highly appreciated. However, although it introduces the production of Korean films, which have been differentiated into various genres such as literary films, cartoon films, and avant-garde films after the enactment of the Film Law, there are articles criticizing them for being planned for box office success rather than artistic quality. In particular, an article about local film production contains news about the production of works such as <I Can't Forget> in the first half of the 1960s, and the production of works by director Lee Hanwook, a former reporter for the 「Jeonbuk Daily 」. However, in the late 1960s, most of the articles introduced the current status of films from Jeonbuk or films located in the Jeonbuk area. This clearly shows the process of the local film industry disappearing after the 1960s.
