Abstract

Inclusion is the trend in many countries. Despite the forwardness, the educational trend has been questioned. In response to those questions, the trend has changed over the years and will continue to evolve. Korea is also blending into this world educational trend by accepting the inclusion paradigm. Korea, however, is in the beginning stage of the paradigm. Therefore, this paper provided how the inclusion evolved by looking through the description of the mainstreaming, regular education initiative, and least restrictive environment. And, through the review of research on the topic, this paper showed its effectiveness in physical education field. Effectiveness of the inclusive physical education on the students with mind, moderate, and severe and profound disabilities were discussed. Further, researches on the attitude of the regular physical education teachers and the students with and without disabilities towards inclusive physical education were discussed. Additionally, guidelines for successful inclusive physical education is provided. Main source of this investigation stems from research in the United States.
