초록
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of play-based physical activity and nutrition education on obesity, exercise behavior change, and dietary habits among lower-grade elementary school children. A total of 175 first and second grade elementary school students participated in the 16-week intervention. The experimental group received play-based physical activity twice a week and nutrition education once every two weeks, while the control group did not receive any intervention. The results were as follows. First, BMI decreased in the experimental group after the intervention, while there was no significant change in the control group. Second, Both the experimental and control groups showed improvement in exercise behavior, with the experimental group exhibiting a greater effect. Third, Positive changes were observed in both groups, but the experimental group showed more significant improvements. The results confirm that combining play-based physical activities with nutrition education is more effective for obesity prevention and for establishing healthy eating and exercise habits in growing children.
