崔致遠撰「佛國寺毘盧遮那文殊普賢像讚」⋅「佛國 寺阿彌陀佛像讚」과 불국사 金銅毘盧遮那如 來坐像⋅金銅阿彌陀如來坐像의 關係再論 — 文明大교수의 所論에 대한 반론 —

Abstract

This article attempts to refute Professor Myung-dae Moon's article presented in 1976, which suggests the period of two pieces of guilt bronze image of Buddha placed in the temple of Bulguksa. In the process of identification of chronology and manufacture of the two pieces of guilt bronze image of Buddha, he objects that quoting the two legends of the image of the Buddha(佛像讚) written by Mr Chiwon Choi (崔致遠) in the latter period of Shilla Kingdom, they are decisional evidence of the fact of manufacture of two guilt bronze image of Buddha and of the chronology of them. However, his objects are derived from misunderstanding and arbitrary interpreting the two legends written by Mr. Chiwon Choi. In a word, he unreasonably drawn the literary evidence that Mr. Chiwon Choi's two legends were associated with the two pieces of guilt bronze image of Buddha ( 金銅佛), of which the dates are suggested as the same manufacture period of them and so on. The refutation of his suggestions is based on showing and presenting various academic evidence of the fact of manufacture and the chronolgy of them. Although his article has passed about 30 years, his incorrect suggestions on the above-mentioned fact and chronology are yet valid as a correct object. Therefore, I expect to correct his wrong identification of the two piece of guilt bronze image of Buddha in the temple of Bulguksa.
