본 논문은 조선 순조 연간에 일어났던 문순득과 그의 일행의 표류 행적과 기록에 관해 선행학자들이 다루지 않았거나 미진했던 몇 가지 사항을 중심으로 고찰한 것이다. 전라도 牛耳島에 사는 문순득은 유구국에 표착한 이래 또 다시 여송국에 표착했다가 그 후 마카오, 중국 대륙을 거쳐 본국으로 귀환했다. 한문을 조금 할 줄 아는 문순득은 본국으로 귀환할 때 표류 과정을 담은 『路程記』를 가지고 있었다. 『노정기』는 훗날 丁若銓이 『漂海始末』을 편찬할 때 기초 자료로 활용했을 것으로 추정된다. 우이도 관할지 羅州牧이 기술한 문순득 표류담을 보면 현존 유일본 『표해시말』과 다른 내용이 일부 들어가 있어 또 하나 판본의 『표해시말』이 있었음이 분명하다. 『표해시말』에 기술된 장강 일대의 여정은 지명이 잘못되거나 앞뒤가 뒤섞여 있어 오류가 많다. 문순득 표류건은 국제적인 사건답게 당시 동북아시아, 동남아시아 등 여러 국가(마카오를 관장한 포르트갈 포함)가 관련되어 유구국 통사의 경우처럼 많은 사람들이 널리 인지하고 있었다. 문순득이 표류한 경험담은 조선 조정에게 교류가 힘든 다른 국가의 정보를 제공해주었고, 또한 실학자에게 해양 문화와 세계 인식을 촉발시켜 시야를 크게 넓혀주었다. 앞으로 조선의 대유구, 여송국, 마카오(포르트갈 포함)의 교류사, 유구국과 여송국의 풍속과 발음, 중국의 대여송국 이민사 등을 연구하는데 귀중한 자료로 활용될 것으로 믿어진다.
Abstract
This article is a academic writing that concentrates on a few matters concerning the drifting activities of Moon Sundeuk(文淳得; 文順得; 文順德) and his company in the reign period of Sunjo of Joseon dynasty, in which previous scholars did not notice or did incompletely. Moon Sundeuk who lived in Ui Island drifted on the coast of the Kingdom of Liuqiu(琉球; Okinawa) and then onto the Kingdom of Luzon(呂宋國; Philippines). Later on, he returned to his own coutry through Macao and China. Returning to his own country Moon Sundeuk who could understand a little Chinese took with him a book Lojeong ji(『路程記』) which recorded the course of drifting. It is estimated that later Jeong Yakjeon(丁若銓) might have utilized the book as basic raw material. The narrative of Moon's drifting experience has provided to the court of Joseon useful pieces of information about other countries which were difficult to exchange and stirred scholars of the Realist School of Confucianism to realize the existence of marine culture and the world and then enhance their vision. I believe that this document will be utilize as very important material to research on the history of exchange between Joseon and the Kingdom of Liuqiu, Luzon, and Macao including Portugal; the custom of the Kingdom Liuqiu; the history of Chinese emigrant into the Kingdom of Luzon.
