예비교사 교육과정에서 교육봉사활동의 의미 : 튜터링 활동을 중심으로

본 연구는 사범대학 중등 예비교사의 튜터링 활동을 통해 교육봉사활동의 의미를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 2024학년도 시교육청과 A 대학이 협력하여 연 4회 실시한 ‘예비교사 학습튜터링’에 참여한 중등 예비교사를 대상으로, 그들이 작성한 소감문을 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 네 가지 주요 주제가 도출되었다. 첫째, ‘예상과 다른 학습자 이해하기’로, 예비교사들은 학습자 수준의 재인식과 학습 스타일에 대한 수용을 경험하였다. 둘째, ‘상황별 학습자 관계 형성 시도하기’에서는 대면과 비대면 상황에서 학습자와의 상호작용 차이를 경험하였다. 셋째, ‘자기 성찰과 현장 역량 학습하기’에서는 자신의 현재 역량 한계를 자각하고, 현장에서 요구되는 실천적 역량을 학습하는 경험을 하였다. 넷째, ‘교사 정체성에 대한 인식과 동반 성장 경험하기’에서는 교사의 역할과 사명감을 깨닫고, 학습자와의 상호 성장을 경험하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 제시하면서 중등 예비교사를 위한 교육봉사활동의 중요성을 강조하고 예비교사교육에서 체계적 운영의 필요성을 제기하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to explore the meaning of educational volunteer programs by examining the tutoring activities of secondary pre-service teachers in a college of education. For this purpose, qualitative analysis was conducted on reflection essays written by secondary pre-service teachers who participated in the Pre-service Teacher Learning Tutoring program, which was implemented four times during the 2024 academic year through collaboration between the City Office of Education and University A. The analysis revealed four main themes. First, in understanding learners different from expectations, the participants developed a renewed awareness of students’ learning levels and accepted their individual dispositions. Second, in building relationships with learners in various contexts, they recognized differences in interaction between face-to-face and online situations. Third, in self-reflection and development of field competencies, they identified the limitations of their current abilities and gained experience in strengthening practical teaching competencies required in the field. Fourth, in recognizing teacher identity and experiencing mutual growth, they realized the roles and responsibilities of teachers and experienced shared growth with learners. Based on these findings, the study presented educational implications, emphasizing the importance of educational volunteer programs for secondary pre-service teachers and highlighting the need for their systematic implementation in teacher education.
