본고는 현대생태학으로 ‘산알’ 시학을 발현시킨 김지하의 사유를 인류세 담론의 맥락 속에서 논의하고자 한다. 인류세는 전례없는 방식으로 가속화되고 있는 기후변화, 생태계 위기 현상에 대한 대응이자, 지구의 환경이 인간의 행위에 의해 영향을 받음으로써 발생된 지질 시대에 대한 명명이다. 김지하 시인은 2010년대 『산알모란꽃』 시집을 통해 새로운 미학적 담론의 주요 의제로서 생태계 위기를 극복할 새로운 패러다임을 모색해야 함을 밝혔으며, 다음 저서인 『산알모란꽃』, 『흰그늘의 산알 소식과 산알의 흰그늘 노래』에서 ‘흰그늘’, ‘율려’, ‘시김새’, ‘접화군생’ 등 생명사상이자 미학사상의 요체였던 개념들은 ‘산알’ 개념으로 융회되고 승화되면서 다기한 이미지들로 발화된다. 시인 스스로가 생명과 생명의 이미지들에 대한 압축이자 메타포라고 지칭한 ‘산알’ 개념에는 공생 윤리에 대한 선견 및 인류세 서사를 주도해온 학자들과 공명하는 지점들이 내포되어 있으며 이를 다양한 개념들로 재정의하고, 재구축하는 양상을 나타낸다. 산알은 단지 수사학적 이미지가 아니라, 우주생명학 삶의 토대가 되기 위한 생명의 실체, 즉 생명력의 실천적 명제로 부각된다. 또한 산알 이미지로 표상되고 형상화되는 김지하의 시학은 인류세를 선취한 미학적 메타포이며, 인류세를 너머 ‘쑬루세’라는 새로운 명명방식을 채택한 해러웨이의 퇴비 은유와 유관성을 지니는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 미학 사상이 21세기 문명적 지표를 제시하는 가능성에 대한 현대적 의의를 규명할 수 있을 것는 과정이 될 것이다.
Abstract
This paper discusses Kim Ji-ha’s thoughts on developing the poetics of ‘San-al’ through modern ecology in the context of the discourse of the Anthropocene. The Anthropocene is a response to the unprecedented acceleration of climate change and the ecological crisis, and a name for the geological era that has occurred as the Earth’s environment has been affected by human actions. In his poetry collection ‘San-al Moran-kkot’ in the 2010s, poet Kim Ji-ha revealed the ecological crisis as a major agenda for a new aesthetic discourse and the need to seek a new paradigm. In his next book, ‘San-al Moran-kkot’, ‘Song of San-al in White Shade and Song of San-al in White Shade’, concepts such as ‘white shade’, ‘yul-ryeo’, ‘shi-gimsae’, and ‘clusters of flowers’, which were the essence of life and aesthetics, are fused and sublimated into the concept of ‘San-al’, and are uttered as diverse images. The concept of ‘San-al’, which the poet himself refers to as a compression and metaphor of life and images of life, contains points of resonance with the foresight of coexistence ethics and scholars who have led the Anthropocene narrative, and shows aspects of redefining and reconstructing it with various concepts. San-al is not just a rhetorical image, but is highlighted as a practical proposition of the substance of life, that is, vitality, that becomes the foundation of life in cosmic biology. In addition, Kim Ji-ha’s poetics, which is represented and embodied by the image of San-al, is an aesthetic metaphor that preempts the Anthropocene, and can be interpreted as having a connection with Haraway’s compost metaphor, which adopted a new naming method of ‘Sulucene’ beyond the Anthropocene. It will be a process that can clarify the contemporary significance of the possibility that aesthetic thought can present a civilizational indicator for the 21st century.
