Abstract

The purpose of this study is to derive the limitations of this work and present related tasks based on cases of finding regional identity, which has recently become a hot topic in the region. Here, we attempted to conduct a related discussion focusing on the case of Uijeongbu City, which has recently been actively carrying out a project to find regional identity. Although the background and purpose of paying attention to finding regional identity may differ slightly for each individual region, I think the key reason is to derive this aspect and secure the region's unique appearance. In addition, it is intended to ensure residents' pride and sense of belonging to the region, and it is difficult to rule out that it can be used in various forms of content in the future. Through the example of Uijeongbu City, the limitations of this work carried out in recent regions are that it tends to be overly uniform and that regional identity is derived based on narrow data. Another limitation is that there is not a proper climate in which professional researchers can participate and establish the unique characteristics of each region through continuous work. Ultimately, in order for the search for regional identity to move in a desirable direction, it is important to actively resolve and supplement these issues. It also seems necessary to make efforts to utilize the regional identity derived through research in a more creative way.
