도시공원과 인구·사회학적 요인 간의 관계 연구: 공간회귀분석을 중심으로

오늘날 도시 내 공원은 인간의 신체 및 정신 건강을 유지하며, 휴식과 소통의 기회를 제공하는 등, 삶의 질을 높이고, 도시의 지속가능한 발전에 주요한 전략으로 그 중요성이 확대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리가 살고 있는 도시 내 공원이 시민들에게 적절히 공급되고 있는지를 확인하기 위해 공공재로서의 도시공원을 고찰하고, 도시공원과 인구·사회학적 요인 간의 관계성 검증을 통해 도시공원 확충 및 서비스 구축에 필요한 기초 자료로 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 전국 228개 시군구를 대상으로 기존에 변수 간의 독립성을 전제하는 일반회귀분석을 통한 검증이 아닌 주요 변수들의 공간적 종속성을 가정한 공간적 자기상관성 검증 및 공간회귀분석을 통해 도시공원과 인구·사회학적 요인 간 관계를 검증하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 전역적 및 국지적 관점에서 주요 변수 내 공간적 자기상관성이 나타나 공간적 종속성을 충족시켰다. 1인당 공원면적의 경우, 전역적 관점에서 특정 지역의 1인당 공원면적이 증가하면 인접한 지역에서도 1인당 공원면적이 함께 증가하였고, 국지적 관점에서는 지역에 따라 다른 경향성이 나타났다. 둘째, 노인인구 비율과 생산가능인구 비율, 빈곤인구 비율의 증가는 1인당 공원면적을 감소시키며, 노후주택 비율의 증가는 1인당 공원면적을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 도시공원 공급에 있어 생산가능인구와 노인인구, 빈곤인구, 노후주택과 같은 인구·사회학적 요인이 고려됨과 동시에 인접한 도시 간의 공간적 영향도 함께 고려해야 함을 시사한다.
Abstract
In contemporary urban environments, parks play a critical role in maintaining both physical and mental health, providing opportunities for relaxation and social interaction, thereby enhancing the quality of life and serving as a key strategy for sustainable urban development. This study aims to investigate whether urban parks are adequately supplied to citizens by examining them as public goods and analyzing the relationship between urban parks and demographic-sociological factors. The goal is to provide foundational data necessary for the expansion of urban parks and the establishment of related services. This study examined 228 cities and districts nationwide, utilizing spatial autocorrelation verification and spatial regression analysis, which assume spatial dependencies among key variables, rather than the traditional general regression analysis that presupposes the independence of variables. The findings are as follows. First, spatial autocorrealtion among key variables was observed from both global and local perspectives, confirming the spatial dependency condition. From a global perspective, an increase in the per capita park area in a particular region also leads to an increase in adjacent regions, whereas local perspectives exhibit varying tends depending on the area. Second, an increase in the elderly population ratio, working-age population ratio, and poverty population ratio was found to decrease per capita park area, whereas an increase in the ratio of old housing increased per capita park area. These results suggest that demographic-sociological factors such as the working-age population, elderly population, poverty population, and old housing should be considered in the supply of urban parks. Additionally, the spatial effects between adjacent cities should be considered.
