Abstract

Broadcasting novels are recited by the narrators' live voices and they aim at being talked over the radio. Their length is between that of a conte and that of a short story. While they are appreciated by the letters, readers associate them with the appreciation in the auditory world. Broadcasting novels in 1940s had movie talkers in their mind as their narrators. The reason lied in the utilization of preludes and the expressions of passionate feelings. In addition, broadcasting novels show a deep attachment to the dream of a sweet home. This rose from the desire of getting away from the confusing realities after the 1945 Liberation and from the yearning for the American home-orientation. The pitiable endeavor to keep a happy home sometimes emphasize a self-sacrifice or an aesthetics of forgiveness like in a sinpa drama. Broadcasting novels also pursue the world of fierce dynamic actions and that of violent actions. The world of violent actions with charismatic atmosphere of pistols at the head arose more dramatic tensions in broadcasting novels. Finally, broadcasting novels show characteristics of humor novels which emphasize bright prospect and laughter, trying to overcome the necessitous circumstances. That means that broadcasting novels reveal a nearly blind optimism which can be called puns, nonsenses, strong desires for happy futures and bright prospects.
