Abstract
This study is due to excavate formation-factor and character of Korean post war novels through synthetic survey. The concept of post war novel was related with war novel and anti war novel. Korean post war novel was originated from Korean war on the other hand Western post war novel was originated from World war Ⅱ. Literary theories of philosophical backdrop in Korean post war novel were started from 'the comment of new generation', 'the comment of humanism' and 'the comment of existentialism'. And these comments advanced as essential factor of Korean post war novels. I concluded that Korean post war novels changed from works of 'defeatism' via works of 'anti violence' to works of 'balanced consciousness' in the course of development. It prove that Korean war devastated Korean's life through these works.
