Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in Electromyography(EMG) tendency associated with decreased exercise velocities that can predict exercise interruption in the field of sports. Eighteen adult men underwent 10RM Squat to the point of failure, and EMG (RMS, MDF) of exercise velocity (MPV, MPV loss), vastus medialis and vastus lateralis were assessed by the number of repetitions during exercise. As a result, the speed, RMS, and MDF gradually changed when performing traditional squats without adjusting the speed for a load of 10RM,but the speed loss, RMS increase, and MDF decrease were large in the middle andlate sets (6 to 8 times). Therefore, to obtain high muscle activity in moderate intensity resistance exercise, it is possible to repeat close to failure after velocity loss, and fatigue can be minimized by constructing a resistance exercise protocol that performs half of the set repetition.
